Chithralekha the Dalit woman auto driver from Payyanur, Kerala, who has been fighting the casteist attacks of CPM for the last ten years is starting an indefinite strike until death in front of Kerala Secretariat on Jan 5th 2016,demanding the government to take steps according to the promises made by the chief minister. During the discussion following the 122 days struggle in front of the Kannur collectorate the Chief Minister had promised her 5 cents of land near Kannur town. After one year the government hasn’t taken necessary steps to give her the land according to the promises made to her. Her struggle is for the freedom and right to live and work in a safe place.
